We respect the President's Biden decision to step aside, an Endorsing the Vice President Kamala Harris. Change Initiative Action Fund Proudly endorse's Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Nominee.
When President Biden and Vice President Harris took office, our country faced unprecedented crises - a raging pandemic, economic crisis, climate crisis, and racial injustice. The President and Vice President ran for office on the promise to move quickly to tackle these crises head-on and deliver results for working families. That’s what the Biden-Harris Administration has done.
Vice President Harris has proudly represented the United States on the global stage in meetings with over 150 world leaders and bolstered vital alliances against tyranny abroad — and she is just as committed to stopping would-be authoritarians and dictators at home. She is leading the charge to protect fundamental freedoms, including the right to an abortion and the right to vote.
Win With Black Men is a movement dedicated to politically empowering and uplifting Black men. It aims to create a community of support to increase their involvement in the political process and dismantle the stigmas and misinformation surrounding black men, our vote, fatherhood, family, and their futures.
In 2020, Trump’s Platinum Plan claims to increase investments in Black communities by creating small black businesses and jobs. Despite the rapper Ice Cube’s contributions, it is too little, too late for some. The Pay Protection Plan (PPP) from the Small Business Administration left Black businesses out in the cold. Over 90% of Black-owned small firms that applied for PPP funding were denied. This has led to over 40% of Black-owned small businesses being shuttered during COVID-19. These realities document a callousness towards Black business owners who already have difficulties securing loans for development and, if provided a loan, are more likely to be offered one at higher interest rates than similar white-owned businesses would obtain, thereby increasing their operating costs. If achieving racial equity was part of Trump’s agenda, distributing resources from the PPP would have explicitly included Black-and-other-minority-owned small businesses. It would have allowed them to receive an equitable share.
For Black men, job prospects are even more limited. In addition to facing more barriers to work entry, the available jobs often do not provide enough money to provide financially for their families. For these men, the labor market has failed them. Thus, their unemployment is not factored into the rate. Research notes that 1.5 million Black men are missing from social and economic life.
